AAACa calcium, and its ingredients, have been the subject of 30 medical journal articles, spanning 20 years of research. AdvaCAL is a recognized partner of the National Osteoporosis Foundation, has been recommended twice by the Health Sciences Institute and has been selected as a “Best Supplement” award winner by two leading natural health magazines.
AdvaCAL is the only line of calcium supplements with AAACa calcium, the #1 bone–building calcium. AAACa, a patented ionic calcium, has shown statistically significant improvement in bone density in four published human studies. Participants in that research included women and men in their 60s and women in their 80s. In those studies bone density improvement started as early as 4 months, up to 3 years. The average increase over placebo ranged from 2.6% to 3.3% per year in long term studies.*
Below are summaries of Research that have been done one AAACa:
BONE DENSITY INCREASE
A report in A medical journal summarized 32 studies conducted between 1977 and 2008 on calcium intake and bone density. The 32 multi-year studies involved 3,169 postmenopausal women, 79 skeletal measures and 7 different types of calcium. AdvaCAL users reported impressive results. With AdvaCAL, average bone density increased +1.5% per year, +3.3% per year compared to a placebo.* Click here to compare multi-year research results.

FRACTURE RISK
A report in the medical journal The Lancet examined results from 17 different studies conducted between 1992 and 2006 on calcium intake and fracture risk. The 17 studies involved men and women over 50, taking 6 different calciums either alone or with vitamin D over multiple years. A study in which participants took AdvaCAL reported an impressive reduction in fracture-risk.* Because the AdvaCAL fracture risk study was small, more research is suggested.

ABSORPTION
A 2010 study published in the journal, Nutrients, found that AdvaCAL calcium (AAACa) was 57% better absorbed than the most popular type of calcium -- calcium carbonate. In this study, both AdvaCAL calcium and calcium carbonate were taken with food. This new study showed a statistically significant improvement in calcium absorption from AdvaCAL using dual stable isotope measurement, considered the gold standard in calcium absorption testing. Calcium carbonate is used in many calcium supplements, from inexpensive antacids to expensive coral and marine algae calcium brands. Earlier research in the calcium field has shown that calcium carbonate is absorbed the same as calcium citrate and calcium citrate malate, when all are taken with food.*

Calcium carbonate from algae (so-called "algae calcium") has one, unpublished 6-month study available. Participants took algae calcium, strontium, two different levels of bone nutrients and followed a bone-healthy diet and exercise plan. Only one of the two groups showed "improved" bone density. The "improved" group took higher levels of bone nutrients, suggesting that those nutrients may have been more beneficial than the algae calcium. In contrast, participants taking AdvaCAL calcium alone after 4-6 months had impressive increases in bone density in three different studies.without strontium, bone nutrients, exercise or diet changes
Take charge of your menopause.

As a menopause specialist I am often asked to review natural supplements. There are plenty of natural options available so I can understand the difficulty one may have in choosing. Most natural supplements for menopause contain either black cohosh, soy, ginseng, red clover, dong quai or their extracts. I recently learned of a new supplement that didn’t contain any of these ingredients. I was intrigued and decided to learn more about it. This natural supplement called “Warmi” contains vegetable and fruit extracts, from Peru. The vegetable is believed to have been eaten by Incan women 700 years ago.

As a menopause specialist I am often asked to review natural supplements. There are plenty of natural options available so I can understand the difficulty one may have in choosing. This natural supplement called “Warmi” contains vegetable and fruit extracts, from Peru. The vegetable is believed to have been eaten by Incan women 700 years ago.
I reviewed the Warmi research. There are three clinical trials completed but not published on the product. It appears to offer the hot flash, cold sweat and mood swing relief I’ve found with better natural menopause remedies. But there are additional benefits. Research suggests it supports the cardiovascular system and bone resorption markers. That’s important because heart and bone health typically decline with the onset of menopause. And patients in the Warmi studies noted several sexuality improvements, including enhanced arousal, satisfaction and orgasm frequency as well as less vaginal dryness and intercourse discomfort. Overall, Warmi users reported better overall quality of life and sexual quality of life.*
Warmi is the first menopause supplement I’ve seen comprised largely of organic ingredients. Organic ingredients are grown without persistent pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), sewage sludge or irradiation. This supplement may be especially appropriate for those with food allergies or sensitive systems. Warmi contains no estrogen, isoflavones, soy, gluten, wheat, milk, eggs, lactose or animal products. It was well tolerated by patients in clinical research.
How this product works is being studied. Some researchers believe Warmi has a weak estrogenic effect but with no adverse effect on cellular proliferation. The vegetable and fruit extracts contain “good” chemicals such as glucosinates, beta-sitosterol and hesperidin. Beta-sitosterol is a plant sterol which is widely recommended for cholesterol management and immune support. Hesperdin, a citrus bioflavonoid, and glucosinates are generally believed to be nutrient protectors for the body with benefits noted for inflammation, cardiovascular health and bone metabolism. *
No adverse side effects have been reported in the Warmi studies and the supplement appears to work within weeks. Patients reported significant improvement in many areas after just a month, improving with continued use. I find Warmi to be credible and unique.
I recommend it to my patients.
